A Poignant GoFundMe Campaign: Majeed Ekbal Dedication to Helping the People of Nepal

In April of 2015, the country of Nepal was hit with an incredibly devastating natural disaster. An earthquake brought havoc to the nation destroying a massive amount of infrastructure and crumbled the homes of many citizens. The injury toll was enormous and rebuilding the country is proving to be a long process. Rebuilding is also an expensive one. Thanks to the hard work of people like Majeed Ekbal, the rebuilding has financial support.

Majeed Ekbal is well-known in Chicago, IL for his work in real estate development. Recently, he launched a GoFundMe campaign to help raise $10,000 for the relief effort in Nepal. Ekbal’s name often appears in the Chicago press for his business-related ventures. Hopefully, the media will give some publicity to Ekbal’s charitable campaign for the people of Nepal.

Ekbal’s GoFundMe campaign is actually interconnected with a much larger campaign that intends to raise millions of dollars for the effort. (Ekbal’s goal is to raise $10,000) The larger campaign is a Crowdrise endeavor run by the Nepali Association of North America.

The Nepali Association’s campaign hopes to draw in the United States government into making a significant contribution. The management of the charity venture looked at the paltry sum the United States has pledged and is cajoling the government to donate $100 million if the Crowdrise campaign is able to raise $1 million. The funding would go towards medical and disaster relief for those living in the earthquake-ravaged country.

The $10,000 Majeed Ekbal hopes to raise would end up being directed towards the larger Crowdrise campaign. Ekbal is a successful entrepreneur and has done great things in the real estate business and in other industries. His skills and talents could very well make the GoFundMe campaign highly successful. The people of Nepal, ultimately, are going to be appreciative of any funds the campaign delivers.
