Andy Wirth’s passion for outdoor activities has been phenomenal to his rising status. A few years ago, he became a skydiving enthusiast. However, his love for skydiving almost cost him his life. In the year 2013, he had a near-fatal accident which almost turned his life upside down after his right arm was almost severed.
After the accident, Andy Wirth did not give up on his passion. Through the help of friends, family and therapists, his arm was reattached and the recovery process has since been remarkable.
On January 12, 2016, Andy Wirth became the chairman as well as the president of RASC. Currently, he is also the CEO and president of Squaw Valley Ski Holdings. RASC is responsible for the promotion of air services into Reno-Tahoe International Airport. In addition, RASC is identifying emerging prospects for the additional flights. The board is comprised of tourism bodies (Reno, South Lake Tahoe and north Lake Tahoe), and regional hotel casino assets.

He believes that the future of the region which, includes all of Lake Tahoe and the greater part of Reno-sparks is full of opportunities. Andy Wirth is certain that the new people will bring in fresh ideas which, will help take the airport to higher heights. According to him, the newly added talented work force will bring the needed experience to enhance smooth travel to and from the region.
RASC is in at the forefront of the air services and is recently working with the Alaska Airlines on the promotion of the direct flights to and from Orange County, Idaho and Boise. Andy Wirth’s endeavors are bearing fruits and much is expected of him in the near future.
