A young woman by the name of Andrea Salazar has not only beat cancer but she also has inspired thousands of people across the globe with her message.
Andrea realized she had cancer when she went into the hospital to get a lump on her neck inspected. While fighting cancer, she had to take some time off of school so her mom suggested modeling. Andrea was nervous at first because of the fact that she would loose all her hair to cancer.
She quickly learned that hair isn’t what makes her beautiful. It’s the type of person she is and how she carries herself. Therefore, she knew she wanted to make a positive impact on anyone else who may be going through this or listening to her story. She posted a photo of her in a gorgeous dress with the caption “Cancer doesn’t stop me from being a princess.”
According to Reddit, the story went viral and it’s easy to see why. She was able to embrace her gorgeous appearance and inspire others to do the same. Losing your hair can really put a dent in a person’s self-esteem and that’s why Andrea knew this was important. She tried wearing wigs after she lost her hair but it just didn’t feel right. That’s when she decided to embrace being bald because that’s who she was now. She wanted to teach others that they are beautiful even without their hair. Their hair is not what makes them beautiful.
Overall, Andrea is an inspiration at such a young age. She has discovered a life lesson that many of us take years to learn. She is letting others know that they don’t have to be ashamed or embarrassed of what they look like. They should embrace every part of them. Andrea has one big takeaway from all of this. She wants others to know that physical attributes are not what defines a person. Rather it’s their spirit and personality. It’s refreshing to see a young spirit who truly wants to inspire others to love themselves which is something that so many of us struggle with.
