City of Trees Project Plans to Green Greater Manchester Over 25 Years

The City of Trees project, which was launched in November, 2015, plans to plant a tree for every man, woman and child in the Greater Manchester area in England. Since that equals roughly three million trees, the plantings will take place over the next 25 years. While some of the trees will be planted in existing forests, the City of Trees will plant others in areas whey they hope to establish new woodlands. Nepal’s Ambitious Snow Leopard Protection Plan

Linking the health of the snow leopard population with the health of the environment, Nepal’s Prime Minister, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, announced a multi-country conservation agreement that sets aggressive and measurable goals for the protection of this endangered species. This landmark legislation, created under the auspices of the Global Snow Leopard and Ecosystem Protection Program (GSLEP), includes all twelve of the countries that contain snow leopard ranges.   Nepal has been a forerunner in the snow leopard conservation effort. It’s hard for ex-cons to find a second chance in life. With a criminal record and limited education, there aren’t many jobs available. In Cleveland, Ohio, one restaurant is working to change that.   Edwins is a French restaurant that delivers a fine dining experience to diners.
