DOE Reports That More People Work in Solar Than in Fossil Fuels

The US Department of Energy has released a report this month revealing that the solar power industry in the United States employs more people than do the coal, oil and gas industries combined. According to the “US Energy and Employment Report,” 374,000 people worked for the solar energy industry during the last year. Victim to Marry Man Who Saved Her Life

Five years ago today Melissa Dohme almost died. On January 24th, 2012, the then 20-year-old Melissa was the victim of domestic violence from her ex-boyfriend, according to the article on The News Tribune Online. She was transported to the hospital suffering from 32 stab wounds and in critical condition. It took several hours in surgery, where she died twice, to finally become stabalized. Nepal Sets New Goal for Restoring Snow Leopard Populations

A four-year conservation effort by the nation of Nepal is seeking to elevate the number of native snow leopards to at least 100 by 2020. This measure is part of GSLEP, a joint effort program taken by all twelve countries possessing snow leopard habitats.   Puspha Dahal, the Nepalese Prime Minister, remarked that snow leopards watch over water towers and serve as a health gauge of the area. Many travel to Italy for the beauty and history of the country. But for the guests in the Rigopiano Hotel on January 18, 2017, their trip took a negative turn. Three powerful earthquakes hit central Italy creating a massive snow avalanche trapping hotel guests and employees for days. Everywhere one looked, all that was seen was destruction and fear.
