Greg Secker: Don’t Rush Through Life, Enjoy the Journey

Motivational speaker and success coach Greg Secker was once asked what he would do differently if he had to start all over again. He answered that he would go through life at a slower pace and enjoy the journey instead of rushing through things quickly.

He then recalled an experience he had at a life development resort that was owned by Tony Robbins in Fiji. The participants were asked to climb up a pole that was sixty feet high using pegs on the sides of the poles. They were attached to a harness. They were supposed to jump off the pole when they reached the top. It was a test of their bravery.

Greg said that he took on the challenge and rushed up the top. He wanted to jump off right away. However, one of the coaches told him not to jump just yet, and instead to take a look around him. He looked around and saw the most beautiful view he had ever seen. He said that he really enjoyed the pristine beauty of the whole island, which was visible from the top of the pole.

Greg says that this applies to life as a whole. You should not attempt to rush through it. Instead, you should look around while you are at it and enjoy what you see.

Greg Secker says that as an entrepreneur, he would recommend that you read books a lot. You don’t have to finish each book or even read the chapters in order. However, by reading a lot of books, you will get a perspective that you had not known about before, and you will learn a lot of new things. He also likes to read autobiographies of strong people, as you can learn a lot.

Greg Secker was born in Norfolk, England. He studied Food and Agricultural Science at the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom.

Greg was awarded the British Telecom Award for developing the Virtual Trading Desk while he worked at Thomas Cook Financial Services.
