Dr. Mark Mckenna was recently featured on IDEAMENSCH as a guest. In the interview, he pointed out that he believes in meditation because it fosters concentration and productivity at workplaces. He also believes in the art of setting realistic goals to guide him when he is brainstorming ideas for a project.
He practices surgery and medicine in accordance with the licensing conditions of the Georgia and Florida State Board of Medical Examiners. He is also a committed community servant and a kind patient advocate. Though he is a native of New Orleans, he attended Tulane University Medical School to pursue medicine.
When Dr. Mark McKenna is not attending to patients, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Gianna Mckenna, and his two kids. He has board membership in the Entrepreneurship Organization. He previously had board membership in the New Orleans Industrial Development Board and the New Orleans Jazz Festival.
The inception of OVME
Dr. McKenna spent over ten years as a surgical practitioner in the medical aesthetics industry. He launched OVME as his private surgical practice with a goal of attending to patients who require aesthetic surgery. He served as CEO of the aesthetic surgery firm whose mission is to reinvent elective healthcare. OMVE managed to appear in the top rankings for privately-owned surgical practices in the US. Dr. McKenna later decided to sell it to a publicly-traded venture for profit.
Dr. McKenna’s career background
Dr. McKenna practiced medicine with his dad, who was a medical practitioner, after graduating from Tulane University. He also founded a boutique property development firm known as Mckenna Venture Investments. He managed the company while he was practicing surgery and medicine. McKenna Ventures managed to acquire Uptown Title and Universal Mortgage Lending. The company’s workforce also grew to 50 employees to cater for the demands of its property development services.
In 2007, Dr. McKenna launched ShapeMed after relocating to Atlanta, GA. ShapeMed is a medical practice focusing on general medicine and aesthetics. In 2014, Dr. McKenna sold the medical firm to a publicly-traded company known as Life Time Fitness. After the sale, he joined Life Time’s leadership team as the national medical director.
