As people continue to wait for the “Carter V” Lil Wayne is trying to make it clear that he is leaving the label for good. Nothing says that the friendship between him and his long time manager Birdman is over like a lawsuit . That is what Lil Wayne is doing right now. He has filed a lawsuit against cash money and it is for quite a large amount.
The $51 million dollar lawsuit involves his desire to get copyrights to recordings from some of the major talents that he brought to the label. This includes Drake and Nicki Minaj. Addition money that is included in the $51 million includes a proposed $10 million that was actually lost in record sales from the “Carter V.” Wayne feels like he is missing out on money and the production costs that went into making the album.
According to the details of the lawsuit there have not been payments for a wide spectrum of things that have been done through the subsidiary Young Money label. There have been tracks that Young Money has not been paid for that have been written by Drake and other artists. Fans like Brian Torchin have found out that Lil Wayne has not been paid the negotiated $10 million for the 4 albums that he agreed to drop.
