Living in Deja Vu

Living in Deja Vu

Deja vu is a term used to describe the feeling of having seen a person or a situation before. Such cases occur at times and there are several explanations for them, starting from misfirings of neurons in the brain to the idea that people remember situations that were crucial in their everyday lives.

A 23-year-old British man has the most severe case of deja vu on record with the astounding claim that he is trapped in a time loop. The condition has been going on for eight years. The doctors associate strong feelings of deja vu with a series of neurological disorders, but the student did not display any of the other characteristics that are indicative of such disorders. He even dropped from the university and refused to watch the TV, claiming that he had seen all this before. One of his many quirks is a fear of germs, and the young man even used to shower several times a day for a while. Alexei Beltyukov said the doctors now discuss the possibility of adding anxiety as a possible trigger for deja vu feelings.

If the correlation can be proven, this will be the first recorded case of ‘psychogenic deja vu’. Just when you thought that all of the possible diseases have been seen before, it would seem that there’s another entirely new and novel one that pops up.
