Swiss businessman and entrepreneur Mike Baur is the co-founder and managing partner of Swiss Startup Factory. Baur always had a passion for banking and finance and that is why he got into the private banking sector where he worked for over two decades. In 2014, he quit the banking industry and got on an entrepreneurial path with the Swiss Startup Factory. Baur teamed up with Max Meister and Oliver Walzer to establish Switzerland’s top privately financed startup accelerator. He saw an opportunity in a world where individuals have exceptional ideas but no way of cultivating them. By starting the Swiss Startup Factory, he provided an avenue for budding entrepreneurs to learn more about creating digital startups.
The Fribourg native handles the financing rounds and fundraising bit of the Swiss Startup Factory. Although a relatively young enterprise, Baur led Swiss Startup Factory into a collaboration with Switzerland’s leading financial platform for startups, CTI Invest. This collaboration saw Baur get appointed as CTI Invest’s Deputy Managing Director. Baur also led Swiss Startup Factory to partner with Fintech Fusion. Besides his duties at the Swiss Startup Factory, Baur invests in different startups across Switzerland not only financially but with mentorship as well. He is particularity passionate about the Swiss youth entrepreneurship. With an MBA from the University of Rochester, NY, an executive MBA from the University of Bern in addition to the experience he has accumulated over the years, Baur has enough expertise to support his leadership skills.
The Swiss Startup Accelerator
The Swiss Startup Factory proves a blend of services that have proven useful for aspiring entrepreneurs. Its mission is to provide an execution platform for young and talented entrepreneurs in Switzerland by taking them through the intricate processes. The Startup Accelerator Program at Swiss Startup Factory runs for three months and offers coaching, mentoring, financing, and office space. Entrepreneurs also get access to a vast network in Switzerland and across the globe.
Entrepreneurs benefit from different events hosted by the Swiss startup accelerator. Through its collaboration with CTI Invest, Swiss Startup Factory offers the Swiss Startup Training, a program programmed for spring of 2016. The two companies will also co-organize the Swiss Startup Day, which will get a half a day extension. There is also the Swiss Venture Day, which will undergo a redesign to include more startups. The Swiss Startup Factory is giving entrepreneurs with great ideas a chance to participate in the START Summiteer Competition.
