Recent years have seen a substantial rise in the eco-friendly following of organic materials and renewable energy. The company Tesla released and article on Friday, May 1st detailing its plan to eliminate fossil fuel energy. By doing so, the company would make room for the Tesla Energy batteries. Tesla isn’t just an automotive company. For years they have been focusing on clean, renewable energy in order to maintain the fossil fuel addicted planet. Once the world relies on the renewable energy source for power consumption, the top 50% of the dirtiest power generation resources could be eliminated. Tesla Energy is a suite of batteries for homes, businesses, and utilities that aims to foster a clean energy ecosystem. Jason Halpern, at his personal webpage, thinks the world would eventually be weaned off of depleting fossil fuels. This move would also increase the resilience of an already substantial power grid. “Tesla Powerwall is a rechargeable lithium-ion battery designed to store energy at a residential level for load shifting, backup power and self-consumption of solar power generation. Powerwall consists of Tesla’s lithium-ion battery pack, liquid thermal control system and software that receives dispatch commands from a solar inverter. The unit mounts seamlessly on a wall and is integrated with the local grid to harness excess power and give customers the flexibility to draw energy from their own reserve.” There are still numerous kinks that need to be worked out in the renewable energy ecosystem overall, but the data and projections are looking to make the planet cleaner and more sustained.
