More shots fired in the ongoing feud between Drake and Pusha T. The Toronto rapper, singer, and founder of OVO Sound set social media abuzz last week after dropping “Duppy Freestyle”, a track that took the president of G.O.O.D. Music to task, as well as went after the producer of his latest album Daytona, Kanye West. Now King Push is returning fire with new diss track “The Story Of Adidon”.
On the track, Pusha calls Drake out on allegedly fathering a child with a woman named Sophie Brussaux, who formerly performed as an adult film actress under the name Rosee Divine. While Drake has denied the claim in the past, Brussaux maintains that the More Life rapper is the father of her child Adonis, even referring to the rapper as a “deadbeat dad” on Twitter in November of last year. Pusha T revisited the matter, saying in the new track:
“SophieKnowsBetter as your baby mother/ Cleaned her up for IG, but the stench is on her/ A baby’s involved, it’s deeper than rap/ We talkin’ character, let me keep with the facts/ You are hiding a child, let that boy come home.”
The track also includes shots at Drake’s parents, particularly Drake’s father. Dennis Graham left the family after he and Drake’s mother Sandi divorced.
“Duppy Freestyle” was itself a response to Pusha reigniting the feud in the Daytona track “Infrared”, released May 25th. In “Infrared”, Push alludes to Drake’s past with ghostwriters in the lyric “It was written like Nas but it came from Quentin.” Quentin Miller is the man alleged to be the writer behind some of Drake’s raps.
This rivalry goes back years, stemming from Push’s beef with Drake’s mentor Lil Wayne back when Pusha T was one-half of Clipse. But with these latest tracks, it appears the feud between Drake and Pusha T is running hotter than ever.
