Richard Matt and David Sweat are still at large and federal and New York state officials have no idea where to look for them. Escaped Murders Still Remain At Large It has been almost two weeks since the men successfully broke out of a federal prison located in upstate New York with the help of a prison worker, Joyce Mitchell. Mitchell has been arrested and arraigned for aiding the two escape but officials are still perplexed as to how the two have been able to avoid their dragnet for so long. Sam Tabar (linkedin.com) has read that there have been potential sightings in various locations in upstate New York areas near the prison as well as in Vermont but no confirmed sightings and the two have been smart enough to avoid being captured on video tape. Officials admit that the two could be anywhere from Canada to Mexico. They say that both men are very smart and cunning and it is clear that they had been planning this escape for quit a long while. They men have the advantage of being able to done civilian clothes as soon as they escaped. This enabled them to blend in to the population much faster before they were even noticed missing. They have also been careful not to commit any crimes while on the run which would draw attention to their immediate area. Experts cite that the longer they stay on the run with no solid leads of their locations, the longer it will be for them to be captured.
