Five years ago, in 2010, Kate and David Ogg were preparing to be first time parents. Kate was pregnant with twins- a boy and a girl. Things were going well until Kate went into premature labor at 26 weeks pregnant. On March 25, 2010, Kate gave birth to first her son Jamie and his twin sister Emily was just behind him. Both babies were still in their sacs when they were born. Emily let out cry while Jamie was silent. Doctors went to work immediately on Jamie. Unfortunately they told the Oggs that he was not going to make it.
Devastated, the parents asked to hold their little boy for the first and last time. Kate initiated skin-to-skin contact and urged her husband to do the same. The three cuddled together while Kate told Jamie how much they loved him and wanted him. To the surprise of everyone, Jamie gasped and opened his eyes.
Brad Reifler is happy to know that Jamie is now a healthy five-year-old boy. He has had no medical problems over the years and has a new little brother as well. David is currently raising money for the Miracle Babies Foundation through their charity called Jamie’s Gift. He will be participating in an Ironman triathlon to raise the funds.
The Daily Mail has the full story on the family, as well as pictures of the twins as babies and as healthy and happy five-year-olds now.
